Meet Estela
A Different Lens on Home Organization
I believe a well-organized home should make everyday life easier, not ask you to become a different person in order to maintain it.
I’m Estela Garcia, founder of Fresh Light Start and a Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization®. I specialize in ADHD-aware organizing, chronic disorganization, and executive function support within the home.
My work goes beyond deciding where things belong. I want to understand how you live, what repeatedly gets in the way, and what your environment is asking of you every day.
Because sometimes the problem isn’t the clutter.
Sometimes the system requires too many decisions, too many steps, too much remembering, or simply more capacity than you have available right now.
That is where our work begins.
Why Organizing?
My connection to organizing began more than eighteen years ago during a difficult season when I supported my sister through a significant life transition.
That experience showed me that our surroundings are rarely just about our belongings. Life changes, stress, grief, decision fatigue, and overwhelm can all affect our ability to manage the spaces around us, even when we know exactly what needs to be done.
I saw how much lighter life could feel when the environment began supporting the person again.
With a professional background in medical billing administration and real estate, systems, paperwork, problem-solving, and organization were already part of the way I naturally approached life and work. Over time, that ability to create structure and reduce friction became something deeper: a way to help people feel more capable and supported in their own homes.
Fresh Light Start grew from that belief.
Organizing Around How You Actually Live
I don’t walk into your home asking:
“Why haven’t you done this?”
I’m much more interested in asking:
“What is making this harder than it needs to be?”
That question changes the organizing process.
We may look at where an item belongs, but we may also consider whether you can see it, remember it, reach it, put it away easily, or maintain the system when life gets demanding.
We pay attention to routines, habits, decision-making, task initiation, transitions, visual needs, and the small points of friction that can make everyday home management harder than it appears.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is a beautiful, functional environment designed around the people who actually live there.
Expertise With Compassion
My approach is informed by continued education in ADHD, chronic disorganization, executive function, behavioral change, and coaching.
As a Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization®, I have advanced training in understanding the patterns that can make organization more complex and persistent over time.
My professional development also includes education and involvement through organizations including the Institute for Challenging Disorganization, CHADD, ADDA, ACO, and the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals.
That education matters to me because no two clients arrive with the same story.
Some have ADHD. Some are experiencing chronic disorganization. Others are highly successful professionals who simply find that home requires far more mental energy than it should. Some are navigating a move, grief, caregiving, a demanding career, a growing family, or another major life transition.
You do not need a diagnosis or a label to benefit from a home that asks less of you.
Beautiful. Functional. Sustainable.
I love beautiful spaces.
But I also know that a system isn't successful simply because it looks beautiful on the day we finish.
It needs to work on a busy Tuesday.
It needs to make sense when you're tired.
It needs to help you find what you need, put things away with less effort, and recover when life gets messy again.
That is why my work combines aesthetics with function.
Together, we Sort, Simplify, Succeed: understanding what you need, reducing unnecessary friction, and creating systems that can evolve with your life.
What I Want for You
I want your home to support everything else you are trying to do.
A place where you can breathe.
Where everyday tasks require less mental energy.
Where getting ready, preparing meals, handling paperwork, doing laundry, or walking through the door feels easier because your environment is working with you rather than against you.
And most of all, I want you to have more capacity for the parts of life that matter beyond organizing.
Your home doesn't need everyone else's approval.
It needs to work for you.
Ready for a Fresh Light Start?
You don't need to know exactly where to begin before reaching out.
Tell me what is feeling difficult at home, what you've already tried, and what you wish felt easier. We'll talk about what kind of support would make the most sense for you.
